Kleanza Consulting Ltd., with offices in Terrace, Vancouver, Prince Rupert, and on Vancouver Island, seeks an experienced Operations Manager for a full-time position, beginning May 1, 2021 (or earlier, ideally, but subject to negotiation).

Our ideal Operations Manager does not necessarily have a background in archaeology. We seek a resilient, enthusiastic, responsive, and initiative-taking individual with proven strengths in data management, critical administrative systems, values-based decision making, and communication. This individual thrives on connecting people, being the go-to person for staff support, tracking timelines, managing budgets, and improving internal systems and controls.

As a critical part of our Leadership Team, the Operations Manager works directly with company owners and Senior Archaeology Manager to ensure smooth daily and overall operations of the company in all aspects from delegation of tasks, project tracking, finances, mentorship, external liaison, and internal well-being. The Operations Manager is ideally located within commuting distance of one of our four offices, but remote work can be accommodated. There may be travel to our offices from time to time.

The ideal applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), project management experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work remotely in a deadline-oriented environment with minimal supervision, ability to simultaneously manage different departments, liaise with clients, delegate tasks, oversee financial operations, and a demonstrated people manager and leader. Familiarity with cultural resource management in BC and the Heritage Conservation Act are considered assets but are not required. Preferences will be given to applicants with experience with grant writing, proposals, report writing, social media, marketing, story-telling (in support of our film and visual reporting department), education and working with First Nations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to the Project Managers with project planning and budget tracking
  • Responding to requests for proposals
  • Tracking permit obligations
  • Supervising Administrative Assistant for payroll, payables, and receivables
  • Overseeing HR and staff support
  • Supporting mentorship program led by Senior Archaeology Manager
  • Supporting owners in company values and mission
  • Proofing social media posts
  • Creating educational and promotional content
