Ridgeline Archaeology is an Archaeological and Cultural Heritage Management company with offices in Prince George and Salmon Arm.  Ridgeline provides professional consulting, surveys, excavations, and mitigations throughout the northern and Interior British Columbia. Our consulting team has a well-deserved reputation for excellence in providing smart, SAFE, sensible, and cost-effective consulting and heritage solutions for our clients and communities.

Job Description:

  • Conduct field surveys in remote locations and in inclement weather
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of field equipment and vehicles
  • Assist with planning and preparation of field work
  • Record and log data using GPS (iPads), take photographs and write effective field notes
  • Contribute to a healthy team dynamic and overall team safety
  • Comply with all appropriate safety standards and our company Policies and Procedures
  • Conduct site evaluations, mitigations, and excavations according to Arch Branch standards
  • Assist with artifact analysis and preparation of technical and site reports
  • Identify archaeological features and assist in the recording of field data


  • Bachelor’s degree in archaeology or anthropology (students are also encouraged to apply)
  • Ability to work in remote locations in adverse weather, and in physically strenuous terrain
  • Willing to travel throughout the province and work long days
  • Capable of conducting safe teamwork outdoors and in remote locations
  • Comfortable working around wildlife (bear etc.) and domestic animals (crew dogs)

Desirable skills:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  •   Bear aware
  •   Level 1 First Aid and H2S
  •   ATV/UTV training
  •   S100
  •   Outdoor survival skills


Based out of Prince George and Salmon Arm but working at various locations throughout the Interior and Northern BC.


Increasing with experience and education:

  • Field Techs – $22-28/hr.
  • Supervisors – $28-35/hr.
  • Field Directors – $75,000+ annual salary
