SNRC is a full service community-based natural and cultural resources firm contributing to and directing all phases of land and resource planning and management in Skeetchestn traditional territory, protecting title and rights and respecting Secwepemc laws, culture, and traditions.
Developing economic, professional, social and cultural capacity of community members to care for Secwepemculewc is a core goal.
Location: Skeetchestn, BC. Our office is a beautiful and easy 40 minute drive west of Kamloops, and 25 minutes east of Cache Creek. Little to no overnight travel/camp work required.
Information: Skeetchestn Natural Resources Corp is seeking a full time archaeologist for field and office work is based out of our office in Savona, BC.
This is a permanent full-time position for archaeologists who have or are close to qualifying for field director status in the Plateau region.
We offer opportunities for mentorship and advancement to field director, permit holder and project manager. You will work with a skilled and experienced team of professionals and technicians, and have the unique opportunity to get to know the cultural landscape of Skeetchestnulewc (territory).
Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities are field- and office-based work relating to all aspects of regulatory heritage management, with a focus on forestry, mining, energy, parks and community infrastructure projects. Duties include:

Experience working with Secwepemc communities and an understanding of Secwepemc culture and the contemporary contexts and issues affecting these communities is an asset but not required.
