Landsong was established in 1998 and is based out of Moberly Lake, BC. We conduct archaeology assessments to meet provincial, federal and Indigenous regulatory requirements. We also work with Indigenous communities, facilitating and assisting with community-led traditional land use studies. Archaeologist Job Description:

  • Field Archaeologist Team position focused on company-wide positive project support
  • Participation in archaeology for oil and gas, forestry, renewable energy and other industries
  • Participation in data collection to facilitate community-lead Indigenous land use studies
  • Walking up to, and at times exceeding, 5 km per day in rugged and wooded terrain
  • Carrying a backpack, tools, equipment and supplies that may at times exceed a combined weight of 45 pounds.
  • Operation of 4×4 trucks, ATVs, UTVs and snowmobiles
  • Work may be located in remote locations with accommodation in camps and hotels
  • Work may include extended hours, including weekends
  • Detailed client, regulatory and Indigenous community communications
  • Compliance with, oversight and continued development of the Landsong EHS Program
  • Adherence to the Landsong Quality Management Program (QMP)
  • Position will require relocation to the Moberly Lake/Chetwynd area

Job May Also Include:

  • Technical writing and review of reporting with attention to detail and quality
  • Assisting with project management, the safety program and/or general administration

Minimum Requirements for Archaeologist: 

  • B.A. or B.Sc. in Archaeology or Anthropology
  • For Archaeologists: completion of an archaeology field school program at an accredited university, college or equivalent field experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Valid Class 5 Driver License

Minimum Requirements for Archaeological Field Assistant:

  • Interest and enthusiasm in learning about and participating in archaeology assessments
  • Valid Class 5 Driver License
